INTERN
WITH US
“Today is FULL of Possible”
ESTHER Homes launched it’s internship program in 2020! We are a small, dynamic team with education in social work, nursing and midwifery, urban planning, and intercultural studies. We push each other to show up and be present rather than perfect. We’re looking to create an intern team with broad skill sets, backgrounds, and perspectives. Ambitious self-starting undergraduates and graduate students with creativity, adaptability, and a learner mindset should apply.
All interns work closely with ESTHER Homes staff and committees, with the opportunity for independent project management. Start/end dates, work hours, and projects will be determined based on student’s schedule, academic requirements, and organization needs.
Our Internships:
-
The Digital Marketing and Social Media Intern will develop engaging content and strategies to increase ESTHER Homes' social media following, promote social change through advocacy and compelling narrative, and support fundraising efforts through online platforms.
-
The Fundraising and Special Events Intern supports and furthers the work of ESTHER Homes' Fundraising Committee through event planning and management, volunteer recruitment for events, and strategic community and business partnerships to further the organization’s mission.
-
The Faith Community Engagement intern will conduct research, identify faith communities with values that align with ESTHER Homes’ mission, and attend meetings with non-profits to determine best practices in engaging faith communities in issues around homelessness, pregnancy and maternal health, and family support.
-
The Grant Support Intern will assist the Director of Community Development to identify short- and long-term funding opportunities, draft letters of intent and grant applications, and monitor and share grant outcomes.
-
The Social Entrepreneurship intern will conduct research and make recommendations to help ESTHER Homes create an entrepreneurship program or partner with existing organizations in the Twin Cities to support the business dreams of single mothers.
-
The Volunteer Engagement intern will develop volunteer communications and recruitment strategies to increase on-ramps for volunteers, assist staff in training volunteers, and track volunteer hours.
-
The Supportive Services intern will provide social support for women and children in ESTHER Homes' program, assist staff with house and donations management, and create short-term programming. This intern will also help improve access to effective, culturally-specific resources and special programming to support ESTHER Homes families' long-term goals. Finally, this intern will help implement programming, develop outcomes and evaluation metrics, and ensure a continuum of support for program alumni.
